About Us
From the very beginning of our company's operation, we were aware that we would achieve the set business goals only if we followed the development of wood processing technologies and thus the very knowledge. We likewise follow the trends of demand. In addition to quality and accuracy, two facts are very important, namely our extremely fast responsiveness and adherence to agreed deadlines. Žaga Rupnik d.o.o. despite being a relatively young company, it has a very rich history. On the farm at "Sedej" in Dole, where the company's headquarters is also located, the saw was chanting a long time ago, immediately after the WW 2. At that time, grandfather Matevž Rupnik started this business with a steam-powered Venetian sawmill. Later, the steam engine was replaced by electricity. It was mainly about offering timber cutting services to the neighbouring farmers. Later, father Ivan Rupnik started to deal with this activity more professionally. During this period, the old saw was replaced by a more modern Centauro bandsaw, and later by Primultini The sawmill building also burned down in 1989. Later, it was necessary to buy other machines, enlarge the warehouse... and employ workers. In 1997, a new production hall was built. In the beginning, it was also about offering services to farmers. Later, when the production expanded, the main activity was the purchase of timber, cutting and sale of cut timber on the domestic and increasingly also on the foreign market. In 2001, his son Simon Rupnik took over the company, successfully continuing the family tradition. The workshop has a new Bongioanni saw and a new forklift, an extension to the production hall and a new transport line have been added. It appeared the need for a larger asphalted warehouse, replacement of a forestry lorry, a mitre saw for packages, a timber peeling machine... In 2008, the company began operating as a limited liability company. The company employs 6 workers. It is oriented to cutting and selling cut timber on the domestic and foreign markets. Thus, we sell wood for joiners, construction timber and roofing timber to order. We also offer the services of cutting, trimming packages, peeling timber, transporting timber and boards.
